On Saturday, December 12 (the day of our trunk show!) rumba will be welcoming a special guest: Priscilla Woolworth.
Woolworth is an eco-conscious maven and curator of beautiful products that make it simple to live in harmony with the planet. (If you remember Woolworth’s stores, that’s her lineage.) She’s the author of the new book LOLA: Lots of Love Always. Come experience this beautiful book—and meet Priscilla Woolworth—at rumba! And read on for some healthy living tips that you can try right now.
LOLA is a gorgeous, graphics-saturated volume of easily doable, healthy living advice aimed at young women. Why that audience? “Young women are bombarded with so much information about products they should buy for themselves, and it’s hard for them to know what are the healthiest choices they can make,” says Woolworth, who has two daughters. We’ve also found the book’s graceful, actionable tips, which include beauty remedies, healthy recipes, personal safety tips, financial advice and more, to be highly relevant to our lives.
Here are a few tips you can try now:
- Beauty: Is your hair winter-dry? Reach for olive oil. Massage it into the ends and into your scalp. Then wrap your head in a towel, and let the oil soak in for an hour or two before shampooing it out. Your hair will come out feeling silky soft.
- Health: Try to make lunch your biggest meal. But if it’s post-dinner and you feel you’ve overdone it, a glass of water with 1/4 teaspoon baking soda before bed is naturally soothing.
- Holidays: Think outside the big box store! Give thoughtful gifts such as organic food in a reusable glass container, or write a note to someone special and tell them how much they mean to you. We also suggest treading lightly on the earth—and making a style statement—by choosing a vintage or locally-crafted treasure from a small business such as rumba!
Meet Priscilla on December 12 during our holiday trunk show, 10AM-5PM at 1740 Ocean Park Blvd in Santa Monica!
